Nitrous oxide cannisters and a seized vehicle (Image: GMP Bolton West) Police in Westhoughton[1] found a number of laughing gas cannisters after searching a vehicle. Greater Manchester Police officers in the Bolton[2] West district were patrolling hotspot areas for anti-social behaviour (ASB) where they came across a vehicle on Church Street.

The vehicle was searched and officers say a number of nitrous oxide cannisters were seized.

Nitrous oxide, better known as laughing gas or hippy crack, has been known to pose the risk of serious side effects to users who inhale it, such as neurological and cardiovascular harm, respiratory issues, anxiety, addiction and memory loss.
