Wisbech assault sees man seriously injured as road closed for almost 12 hours
An assault in Wisbech[1] on Friday night (December 15) left a man in hospital with serious injuries and a road closed[2] for almost 12 hours. Police officers were called to Church Terrace at about 11pm and found a man with serious injuries receiving treatment from the ambulance service. The man from Wisbech, in his 40s, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital[3].
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who was in the Church Terrace area at the time of the assault. Church Terrace was closed between approximately 11.15pm on Friday and 11pm on Saturday.
A Cambridgeshire Police[6] spokesperson said at 7.45am on Saturday: “Please be aware that Church Terrace, Wisbech, is currently closed for traffic as well as pedestrians due to a police incident.
Please make alternative arrangements, if needed. Many thanks.” At around 11.30am on Saturday, a police spokesperson gave an update: “Church Terrace, Wisbech, has now been re-opened.
Thank you for your patience during this time.”
