Woman, 30, suffers horrific injuries after being hit by car
A woman was rushed to hospital with 'potentially life-changing injuries' after being hit by a car in Salford[1]. The smash happened on Cromwell Road, near the junction with Jockey Street, at around 4pm yesterday afternoon (Saturday). Police said a black Volkswagen Golf R collided with a 30-year-old woman - a pedestrian.
Emergency crews were scrambled to the scene and the woman was rushed to hospital. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police[2] said she suffered 'potentially life-changing injuries'.
The driver - a 27-year-old man - was arrested on the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He remains in custody to be questioned by detectives. After the crash yesterday afternoon, a stretch of the road was cordoned off by police[5] with drivers being urged to avoid the area. Parts of Seaford Road and Lower Broughton Road were also taped off as investigations were carried out.
