A 35-year-old man has been arrested after two people were killed and a teenager left seriously injured following a car crash in Greater Manchester.

Emergency services were called to Ripponden Road in Oldham at around 4pm on Saturday but a 42-year-old woman and a teenager, 15, died at the scene.

Another child, aged 13, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

All three victims were in the same car.

The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, a 35-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody for questioning.

Greater Manchester Police[2]‘s serious collision investigation unit is now appealing for anyone who may have seen the car, described as a Black BMW X5, or the crash to make contact.

Officers also want to speak to anyone who may have footage.

This includes dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area in the moments before the collision.
