Woman and two children hit by car as police close road

A woman and two children were hit by a car in Kirkdale[1] this morning. Emergency services were called[2] to Stanley Road, after reports of a crash involving three people and a white Suzuki Vitera. At the scene paramedics found a woman and two children had been hit.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries. Police say the two children were also taken to be checked over as a precaution. The driver of the white Suzuki Vitera stopped at the scene[3] and is assisting police with enquiries.

At around 8.05am officers were called to a report of a collision involving a woman and two children on Stanely Road.

“The woman pedestrian sustained slight injuries has been taken to hospital. The two children were taken to hospital to be checked over as a precaution. The driver of the white Suzuki Vitera is assisting police with enquiries.

“A road closure is in place at Lambeth Road and Stanley Road and we ask motorists to avoid the area.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and drivers who were in the vicinity at that time to come forward to help with the investigation.
