Woman in her 60s arrested after haul of ‘stolen’ goods found
Police in Falkland Square (Image: Dorset Police) A WOMAN in her 60s was arrested after she was found with a haul of ‘stolen’ goods. Undercover officers arrested the woman while on an operation in Poole[1] town centre, where she was found with around GBP80 worth of goods from various shops.
A crowd gathered in Falkland Square as undercover officers arrested another man for ‘theft from Poundland in the square’. The undercover officers were targeting thieves on Saturday, December 9.
Bournemouth Echo: Officers arrested two people in the operation on Saturday. During the operation, officers seized two shopping bags filled with fake perfume and Apple AirPods, as well as carrying out five stop searches.
Two of these searches were positive, one for cannabis and one for both cannabis and stolen goods. While the incident in Falkland Square drew a crowd, the police reminded residents that undercover officers will always carry a warrant card and photo ID. Officers are ‘perfectly happy’ to be asked about this if people are unsure of anything.
The force also said that police radios and earpieces are ‘another good item to look out for to allay any concerns about what is occurring’.
There are two more similar operations planned in Poole for later this month as police tackle shoplifting.
