Woman killed in crash which closed Chippenham bypass overnight
A woman has been killed in a car crash on the A350 Chippenham bypass near the Wiltshire-Somerset border, police have confirmed. Wiltshire Police said the woman was in her 50s and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which involved a car and a lorry at the start of Friday evening’s (December 1) rush hour. The collision closed the A350 Cepen Way for the rest of the evening and into this morning after the collision, which took place at around 4.45pm.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash to get in touch. The name of the woman who was killed has not yet been released by police, but they have confirmed she was in her 50s and her family have been informed. A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A350, Chippenham around 4.45pm yesterday, December 1, involving a car and a lorry.

“The road is currently still closed and is expected to remain closed for another hour while the carriageway is cleared.
