A prominent Yeovil town centre shop is up for sale as it is set to go to auction.

48A Middle Street is among 149 lots listed across southern England and South Wales by Clive Emson Auctioneers. The mid-terrace commercial property is located in the heart of Yeovil town centre. Currently let at GBP15,000 per annum, the two-storey building at 48A Middle Street is currently tenanted.

It is the home of Ginger Chops barber shop.

The barber shop has no plans to vacant the building, and the property is placed on the market as "an investment opportunity". Freehold, the guide price is GBP135,000.

Audrey Smith, a senior auction appraiser at the firm, said: "The ground floor is currently used as a barber shop with the first floor having a large ancillary space. The property, let on a five-year lease from November 1 2020 at a current rental of GBP15,000 per annum, is likely to be of interest to investment buyers looking to start or add to their property portfolio." Of the 149 lots listed in the auction, 59 are vacant residential, 37 investment, 26 commercial, 14 development and 13 land.

The auction ends on December 13, with live bidding 48 hours beforehand.
