2 Cleveland police officers hurt after crash with suspected drunk driver

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland police say two officers were hurt Thursday evening after a suspected drunk driver hit their cruisers.

It happened around 9:40 p.m. in the 4600 block of Broadway Avenue.

That's between the North Broadway and Industrial Valley neighborhoods on the east side of Cleveland.

According to police, the officers were called out to investigate a fight.

When they arrived to the scene, a fleeing vehicle hit their cruisers, police say.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly driving under the influence.

The officers had minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
