Police want to speak to these 18 people about recent crimes across Merseyside. CCTV images have been released in a bid to help investigations into crimes including a sexual assault at the Adelphi Hotel and a man being robbed at knifepoint on Scotland Road. Police also shared an image after a woman reported she was racially abused at a checkout in Poundland.

Merseyside Police[1] believe the people pictured in these appeals have information that could solve active cases. The appeals listed have been released between September and December and are mainly for crimes committed in that time period, however some crimes date back to July. Here we’ve rounded up some of Merseyside Police’s most recent appeals.

The victim, in his 30s, was punched in the face by another man at around 4.50am on Sunday, August 27.

He then fell backwards and hit the back of his head on the ground, on Back Colquitt Street[3], near the Fact cinema. The man was rushed to hospital where he remained for some time recovering from his injuries. The suspect left the scene soon after the incident with two other men, walking towards Wood Street in the direction of Berry Street and got into a taxi.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible, and detectives[4] have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation. Burglar climbs through shop roof in crime spree

CCTV images have been released after a burglar climbed through a shop roof and stole alcohol, scratch cards and e-cigarettes. Merseyside Police has shared images of two men they want to speak to following two burglaries in the city centre.[5][6] The first incident took place at 8.40pm on Saturday, September 23 when it was reported that a man broke into The Arch Student Accommodation and stole electrical tools before he was escorted out by security staff.

A man was seen entering the same student accommodation again at 5.30am on Tuesday, September 26, before he ran away from security staff.

In a further incident at 2.15am that same morning, a man entered a shop on Limekiln Lane through the roof. He then stole alcohol, scratch cards and e-cigarettes before escaping back through the roof. Man robbed at knifepoint while walking down Scotland Road

The victim, in his 50s, had been walking at around 1.20am on Friday, September 8, when he was approached by a man armed with a knife.[7] The suspect threatened to use the weapon and took the victim’s phone and wallet.

A short while later, at around 2.20am, an attempt was made to use the victim’s bank card at a nearby convenience store, but the transaction was declined. Police have released an image of a man who they believe may have information about the robbery. Detective Inspector[8] Katie Coote said: “This would have been a traumatic incident for the victim and although he wasn’t injured, he was understandably left very distressed.

Merseyside Police[9] want to trace a man after multiple fraud offences were reported at Sainsbury’s and Tesco[10]. Detectives[11] believe the man pictured could have information to help their investigation after the offences at petrol stations in Wirral[12]. It was reported that between Tuesday, November 7 and Tuesday, November 12, a man entered several petrol stations, filled up multiple vehicles and paid inside the kiosk using a stolen fuel card.

The card was used at Sainsbury’s[13] Prenton, Sainsbury’s Upton[14] and Tesco Bidston. While the business the card was stolen from wish to remain anonymous, a detective told the ECHO[15] it was a “small local run business”. Sexual assault reported outside club

A woman reported she was sexually assaulted in the smoking area of a club in the Baltic Triangle. Police said the victim, 18, said she was touched inappropriately by another woman on the first floor smoking area of 24 Kitchen Street, at around 1am, on Sunday, October 29. [16][17]

Detective Inspector[18] Neil Dillon said: “We take reports of sexual assault very seriously, and we are very keen to speak with the woman featured in the image to help with our enquiries. This was a traumatic experience for the victim, and we are working hard to ensure that the person responsible is identified. “I am also appealing to the woman featured in this image, or anyone who recognises her to please contact us.

A woman suffered serious facial injuries after being attacked in town. The victim, in her 30s, was believed to have been assaulted by two other women outside Heaven nightclub, on Victoria Street[19], at around 7am on Friday, October 20.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her face. Police[20] have now released CCTV images of a woman who could have information that may assist with their enquiries. Officers described the incident as a “dangerous and reckless” attack.

Detective Inspector[21] Neil Dillon said: “This was a dangerous and reckless attack that has left the victim seriously injured. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which can help with our investigation to please contact us.” Man in 20s reportedly raped in city centre

Detectives investigating an alleged rape in Liverpool city centre[22] have issued CCTV images of a man who could help with enquiries. Merseyside Police[23] reported that a man allegedly sexually assaulted a male victim in his 20s on Mount Pleasant, close to the Liverpool John Moores University[24] library on Maryland Street in the city centre[25]. It was reported that the victim managed to escape the situation. Police detectives have carried out extensive CCTV and witness enquiries and now the force has issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.

Police have issued a CCTV appeal after a Nissan Qashqai was stolen off a driveway.

Officers said on Saturday, October 14 at around 7am, they received a report a home had been broken into overnight on Ivernia Road in Walton[26]. During the burglary, it was reported that cash, clothes and a white Nissan Qashqai was taken by the offenders. Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said: “Burglary is an invasive crime that pervades people’s homes and personal space and can have a significant impact on victims.

We take all reports of burglary extremely seriously and we are determined to find the person responsible. “As part of our ongoing investigation, we are releasing images of two males who we believe could have information about the incident. Merseyside Police[27] said the incident happened on a bus travelling from Queen Square to St Helens[28] Bus Station.[29] The offence happened on Friday, September 29 at around 10.30pm. The victim, who was a young woman, got off the bus which stopped on Warrington[30] Road in Prescot[31] whilst the offender remained on the vehicle.

The victim was[32] in the Irish House, on Ranelagh Street, when a man shouted at him and then punched him in the face around 11am on Friday, October 27.

The suspect then followed the victim outside to his car as he left the area. Merseyside Police[33] have now released a CCTV image of a man who may have information that could assist their enquiries. Anyone who knows the person is being urged to contact officers.

Detective Inspector[34] Neil Dillon said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack on a member of the public who was on a night out in our city centre. Police have issued CCTV after a security guard at Barclays was approached by two men armed with an axe on Allerton Road[35] in Mossley Hill[36], at around 2.30pm on Thursday, September 14.

They attempted to take a cash box but were unsuccessful. The men left the scene and joined another man in a black Audi car, which had been parked on Garthdale Road, and drove off along Allerton[37] Road. The security guard was unharmed during the incident.

A suspect broke into a St John’s Hospice charity shop twice in one night. Police received a report that between 8pm on Thursday August 31 and 1.30am on Friday, September 1, a suspect broke into the St John’s Hospice Charity Shop on Allport Road in Bromborough[38], Wirral[39].

After breaking in the offender then left the shop, before returning hours later. The radio was “turned up” inside the shop as the offender broke into a till drawer and stole a laptop. The suspect then left via the back of the premises towards Greenfield Road.

Merseyside Police[40] received a report that at around 11.20pm on Thursday, September 21, a man pulled a woman’s hair and sexually assaulted her at The Brookhouse pub on Smithdown Road in Wavertree[41]. A short time later the victim’s boyfriend confronted the offender, but was punched in the face causing a cut to his lip.

Security staff intervened and both men returned to their friends. However, when the pub was closing another altercation took place involving both parties as they were leaving the premise.

The offenders made off in a black Volkswagen Tiguan. One victim sustained injuries which required hospital treatment.

A woman reported she was racially abused at a checkout in Poundland. Police[42] have issued a CCTV image of someone who they believe has information that might be able to help with their investigation following the incident. The victim had been at Poundland, in Ravenhead Retail Park[43], St Helens and was about to pay for her shopping at around 3.25pm on Saturday, August 12. She told police[44] that a woman then stood very close to her as she went to pay with her bank card and pin.

The victim asked the woman to step back, so she could enter her PIN and complete the transaction.

The woman ignored the request until the cashier also asked her to do so. The victim[45] then completed the transaction while the suspect shouted racist abuse, police said.

The cashier asked the offender to leave, and she then reportedly shouted verbal abuse at the cashier then left the store.
