A141 between Chatteris and Warboys shut for more than four hours after lorry overturns during Storm Henk
A busy Cambs A-road was closed for more than four hours after a lorry overturned during Storm Henk. The incident took place on the A141 between Warboys and Chatteris[1] at approximately 5.50pm on Tuesday, January 2. Police, fire and ambulance services attended but nobody was injured.
An East of England Ambulance Service[2] spokesman said: “We were called just after 5.50pm on Tuesday to reports of an overturned truck on the A141 in Chatteris. “An ambulance was sent to the scene. One patient was assessed at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.”
A Cambridgeshire Constabulary[5] spokesperson said at 8.05pm: “The A141 between Warboys and Chatteris will be closed for the next two hours due to recovery in progress following an RTC. The incident is at the end of the straight before Clews Corner. There were no injuries.
However, a large HGV is to be recovered.” A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue[6] spokesperson confirmed fire crews attended briefly. However, no firefighting was needed because the person that had been inside the lorry was already outside before they arrived.
At approximately 10.20pm, the police confirmed that the road was open and clear, and the lorry had been safely recovered.
