A151 near Spalding remains closed 16 hours after pedestrian seriously injured in crash with Honda Civic

A busy Lincolnshire[1] road remains closed more than 15 hours after a pedestrian was “seriously injured” in a crash. The A151 Spalding Road was shut in both directions at 7pm last night (Wednesday, January 17) after a man was involved in a collision with a Honda Civic car. The man, in his 30s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, according to Lincolnshire Police.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A pedestrian and a Honda Civic were involved. The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, has injuries described as serious and has been taken to hospital. “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam or video footage that will assist our inquiries to get in touch.” The road was closed between the turn-off to West Pinchbeck and North Drove, in the hamlet of Twenty.

Get the latest Lincolnshire Live news with our email newsletters[2] As of 10.30am the following morning, accident investigation work was still underway and the road remained closed. Traffic between Pinchbeck and Bourne was worst affected, though it had eased by the morning.

A diversion route is in operation by way of the 402 bus service.
