A183: One hospitalised after serious Bournmoor crash
The A183 at Bournmoor which travels towards Chester le Street has been closed off this evening since just before 4pm following a crash. The ambulance service have now confirmed that one person was taken to hospital. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a road traffic collision today (11 January) at 3:50pm on the A183 in Bournmoor. “We dispatched one ambulance crew and one clinical team leader and were supported by our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

“One patient was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital.”
Northumbria Police and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
