A45 road closed live as police investigate serious crash in Coventry
A busy section of the A45 in Coventry is closed in both directions while police investigate a serious collision. Stonebridge Highway has been sealed off between Tollbar End and Festival Island. A National Highways spokesperson said: “A45[1] closed both ways between A46[2] Tollbar End[3] and A46 Stivichall Interchange[4] near Coventry[5] following a serious collision late yesterday evening.
West Midlands Police are at scene. More info to follow shortly.” A post on traffic information website Inrix, updated shortly after 9am, said: “A45 Stonebridge Highway in both directions blocked due to accident investigation work between A46 (Tollbar End) and A46 (Festival Island).”
Diversion routes are in operation. West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service attended the collision last night. It is not yet known if anyone was injured.
Both WMP and WMFS have been approached for further information.
