A9 closed in both directions after ‘multi-vehicle collision’

The A9 has been closed in both directions near Inverness after a “multi-vehicle” collision. Emergency services were called to the road near Daviot, at around 7.20am on Thursday. Officers confirmed that the road is blocked in both directions after a crash involving multiple vehicles.

Drivers are being urged to find alternative routes and “take care” when driving. A police spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with a multiple-vehicle collision on the #A9 near to Daviot, just south of Inverness. The road is currently blocked in both directions.

“Officers are on scene and will try to clear the road as quickly as possible.

“There is a lot of black ice this morning, please drive with care.”
