Armed officers and negotiators in stand-off in village north of Gloucester
A stand-off is currently underway between a man and armed police and negotiators in a tiny village north of Gloucester. Gloucestershire Police said officers attended an undisclosed address in Hasfield, Gloucester shortly before 2pm today (Sunday, January 14) to arrest a man on suspicion of breaching a Domestic Violence Protection Order. However, while officers were at the property the man threatened to harm himself and the officers, leading to the ongoing stand-off between him and the police.
A statement from Gloucestershire Police said: “Negotiators and firearms officers are currently at the scene and police are asking people to avoid the area while emergency services are in attendance. The road has been closed and no injuries have been reported.” This is a an ongoing incident.
