This is the second time in under a month that a car crashed into the barriers on Queen’s Drive after a suspected drunk driver was arrested after a crash on December 20[1]. That incident happened at around 5.25am at the Somerville Road junction, near the Sussex Place parade of shops. Police and an ambulance were called to the scene and one person was taken to Great Western Hospital with injuries.

The driver involved in the crash, a woman in her 20s, was arrested by the police on suspicion of drink driving.

The road reopened in time for the rush-hour traffic.
