Biker dies after A246 crash in Surrey village

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man has died following an accident in East Horsley this morning (Sunday, January 7). Officers were called to the A246 Guildford[1] Road at 9.50am following reports of a collision between the rider of a black Honda motorcycle and the driver of a green Vauxhall Astra. Ambulance crews attended the incident but despite the best efforts of the paramedics, the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. The collision occurred between the junctions with Greene Dene and Dirtham Lane. This part of the road remained closed for several hours while emergency services were on scene.

An appeal issued by Surrey Police[4] states: “Were you driving along Guildford Road this morning? Do you have any dashcam footage that might have captured the incident or the vehicles prior to the collision?
