Avon and Somerset Police’s Roads Policing Unit has reposted the video on X (formerly Twitter) showing the motorcyclist speeding away on the motorway between Junctions 21 and 22 for Weston. The clip then shows the biker pulling over onto the hard shoulder after being ordered to stop by officers in a pursuing car.
Previously a spokesperson for the unit said: “This rider was stopped by officers on OpTempo after being seen at speeds up to 118mph on the M5.
1/3rd of fatal RTCs (road traffic collisions) in @ASPolice this year have involved a motorcyclist (13/46), riding like this on the motorway & rural roads presents a real risk to life.”
