Body believed to be missing Graham Connell recovered from River Aire

A body believed to belong to missing man Graham Connell has been recovered from the River Aire. The body was found by underwater search officers at around midday. The body was recovered from a section of the river near to Aberford Road and Bullerthorpe Lane, Woodleford.

Formal identification has not yet been completed but it is believed to be Graham Connell. His family have been informed and are being supported by officers. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office have now been informed.

West Yorkshire Police said: “A body believed to be missing man Graham Connell has been recovered from the River Aire today. “He was found by underwater search officers at about noon in part of the river near to the junction of Aberford Road and Bullerthorpe Lane, Woodleford. “While formal identification is yet to be completed, it is believed to be Mr Connell.

His family has been informed and officers are continuing to provide support to them at this difficult time.

“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office has been informed.”
