Car crashes and overturns in Gloucester

Emergency services descended on a street in Gloucester after a car overturned in a crash. Painswick Road was closed yesterday (January 16) after the single vehicle crash, which left the car blocking the road at the junction for Eastern Avenue. Gloucestershire Police and the South West Ambulance Service were called to Painswick Road shortly after 5.45pm.

Gloucestershire Police said the people inside the car were checked by paramedics and thankfully did not suffer any injuries in the crash. The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene. Gloucestershire Police said the Painswick Road was reopened shortly after 7.30pm.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “We were called to Painswick Road in Gloucester shortly after 5.45pm yesterday (Monday) following reports of a single collision. The collision involved a car which had overturned and took place at the junction for Eastern Avenue. “The occupants of the car were assessed by paramedics and had not sustained any injuries.

A closure was put into place while emergency services attended and lifted shortly after 7.30pm.”
