Car overturns on dual carriageway and lands on roof
The black Ford Focus was travelling along the A3049 Dorset Way approaching Tower Park Roundabout when it flipped on its roof. Images show it on its roof on the grass verge by the side of the 50mph road. In the minutes after the crash, multiple other cars were seen pulled over by the side of the road while drivers helped the stricken vehicle.
Emergency service were called to the crash shortly at around 8.20pm on Thursday night, January 11. One person was taken to hospital as a precaution, Dorset Police confirmed.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 8.20pm on Thursday 11 January 2024 of a collision on the A3049 Dorset Way in Poole[1] involving a single vehicle that was reported to have overturned. "There were no reports of any serious injuries. One person was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Officers left the scene at around 9.50pm."
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service's spokeswoman added: "Police asked us to attend the A3059 Dorset Way in Poole at 8.34pm on 11 January after a single vehicle road traffic[2] collision.
"Two crews from Poole were mobilised, but the car driver was already out of the vehicle and in the care of paramedics when we arrived, so our stop was at 8.41pm."
