Car TWICE drove wrong way on M61 in high speed police chase before being caught by stinger
A driver has been arrested and three others detained after a car drove down the M61 the wrong way twice during a high speed police chase. Lancashire Constabulary[1] traffic cops were involved in the pursuit of a car on the M6[2] and M61 after it failed to stop. The vehicle ‘drove at high speed using the hard shoulder to get past vehicles’ and then ‘decided to increase the risk’ by going the wrong way TWICE on the M61, LancsLive reports[3].
Officers were forced to abandon their pursuit but then later spotted the vehicle leaving Preston. A stinger was used to bring it to a halt near the Tickled Trout hotel in the town, before four occupants tried to flee the scene on foot.
