CCTV image released after attack leaves man hospitalised with serious injuries
Officers investigating a serious assault in Widnes have released CCTV of a man they would like to speak to. At 4.45am on Sunday, October 8, police were called to reports of an assault on Victoria Square, Widnes. The caller reported witnessing a group of men assaulting another man.
Officers attended and found a 40-year-old man had been injured. Paramedics also attended the scene, and the man was taken to hospital where it was discovered he had suffered serious injuries. The two men, aged 34 and 31 and from the Widnes area, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
They have since been released on conditional bail. Officers have now released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in relation to this incident. Detective Constable Claire Howard said: “Enquiries are currently ongoing and as part of our investigation, we would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image.
