Child among three hurt in A46 crash between Audi and Honda Jazz

A child was among three people hurt in a two-car crash on a main road in Warwickshire[1]. The youngster was treated at the scene of the collision between Audi and a Honda Jazz on the A46 near Kenilworth[2], between the Thickthorn and Stoneleigh roundabouts, on Tuesday night (January 9). Fortunately they were not seriously injured and were discharged at the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS)[3] said that a woman, who was a passenger in the same car, was taken to University Hospitals Coventry[4] and Warwickshire for further treatment.

The driver of the car was treated at the scene for minor injuries and discharged. A WMAS said there were no patients from the other car involved in the collision. “Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars had been involved in a collision,” the WMAS spokesperson said. “A female passenger from the first car was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.

The male driver and a child from the same car were treated for minor injuries and taken to Warwick[5] Hospital. There were no patients from the second car requiring treatment.” Warwickshire Police[7] officers are appealing for any witnesses in the area at the time of the collision, around 8.30pm, to come forward. “Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing,” a spokeperson said.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident, the manner in which the vehicles were being driven or who captured the collision on their dashcam.

If you can help or have further information, please contact us[8] quoting incident number 295 of 9 January.”
