Child rushed to hospital after M50 crash leaves car on roof

A child was taken to hospital after being injured in a crash on a motorway near the Gloucestershire-Herefordshire border. The incident happened on the M50[1] at around 5.40pm yesterday (January 1). West Mercia Police said emergency services were called out to the westbound-side of the motorway[2] after receiving reports of a car on its roof near junction three at Gorsley. National Highways[3] tweeted the M50 was shut between junctions two and three while the crash was dealt with. The road reopened at around 7.40pm.

Police said no other vehicles were involved and a child was rushed to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a car on its roof on the M50 junction 3 westbound in Gorsley, Herefordshire around 5.40pm yesterday (January 1). “A child was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

No other vehicles were involved.”
