Concert led by country legend Declan Nerney in tribute to tragic Co Derry musician Chris Bradley next month

A concert led by country legend Declan Nerney is to take place next month in tribute to the late Co Derry[1] musician Christopher Bradley, who sadly died following a road crash in October. Christopher Bradley, described by Declan Nerney as a “magnificent drummer” and a “colleague and friend”, was a father-of-two from Desertmartin in Co Derry. He sadly died following a crash in October involving a tractor in Co Louth.

News of his death was greeted by tributes from around the country music scene in Ireland, with Declan Nerney saying: “Chris was a magnificent drummer and above all that, an even better colleague and friend. He was the life and soul of the party, always lit up a room with his great sense of humour and a powerful legion of fans.” Mr Bradley was on his way home from a dance in Co Kildare when tragedy struck on October 14.

The conert in his honour is set to take place at the Tullyglass Hotel, Ballymena[3] on Tuesday, February 13 and is dubbed as a concert featuring “Declan Nerney and a host of his country music colleagues in tribute to one of Irelands finest musicians Chris Bradley”. Also set to feature are Derek Ryan, Jimmy Buckley, Robert Mizzell, Patrick Feeney, The Tumbling Paddies, Philomena Begley, Barry Kirwan and Margo. The event is listed with a start time of 8pm with doors opening at 7pm, and tickets priced at GBP27.50 available at wegottickets.com
