Cops issue update after body discovered in reservoir near Glasgow (Image: Newsquest) Cops are now treating the discovery of a body in a reservoir as 'unexplained'. We previously reported that emergency crews were called to Stanley Reservoir in Paisley shortly after midday on Friday afternoon.

The body of a man was found[1]. Initially, officers did not believe there to be any apparent suspicious circumstances. The force has since revealed they are treating his death as unexplained and continuing to look into what happened.

A report is being sent to the procurator fiscal. A Police Scotland[2] spokesperson said: "Around 12.10pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, police were called to Stanley Reservoir, Gleniffer Road, Paisley, following the discovery of a man's body. "The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal"
