Coventry homes evacuated after van driver reversed into house

Several Coventry homes had to be evacuated after a motorist caused ‘significant damage’ when they reversed into a house at speed before driving off. Multiple emergency services were dispatched to Foxes Walk[1] in Wood End after a van smashed into a mid-terraced property at about 7:30pm last night (13). “Significant damage was caused to the structure which resulted in neighbours being evacuated,” a West Midlands Police spokesperson. “The property has now been made safe and residents have returned to their home. “Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch with us via LiveChat on our website or call 101 quoting 20/137420/24.” The force of the impact was so severe a technical rescue team was deployed by West Midlands Fire Service to survey the damage.

The fire service said crews from Coventry[2], Foleshill[3] and Solihull[4] fire stations all attended and that the incident had been left with West Midlands Police[5].
