Crash near Earith leaves driver injured as motorists urged to take care in icy conditions

A man was taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Cambridgeshire[1] on Tuesday night (January 9). The crash happened on the B1381 near Earith. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.49pm last night (Tuesday) with reports of a single vehicle collision on the B1381 at 100 Foot Bank, near Earith.” A motorist who passed the scene said the road had been icy.

A force spokesperson warned of ice on the road shortly before 11pm on Tuesday night. They said: “Please be aware, as with any roads this evening; the B1381 between Earith Bridge and Sutton is very icy. Take care and drive safe.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 8.50pm on Tuesday with reports of a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle on the B1381 near Earith. An ambulance was sent to the scene. “One patient, an adult male, was assessed at the scene before being transported to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for further care.”
