Crash on Glasgow’s Great Western Road sparks emergency response as car left sitting across lanes

Emergency services have scrambled to Glasgow’s Great Western Road[1] this morning (January 11) following a collision. Police and paramedics are on the busy street, near Great Western Retail Park in Drumchapel[2], after a crash that is said to involve a ‘silver car and white van’. It’s understood that the car has been left ‘damaged’ and is sitting across both lanes.

Traffic[3] is reportedly being diverted while emergency services investigate. It is not yet known how many people are involved, or what injuries they sustained, if any.

An eyewitness told Glasgow Live: “It appears to be a collision between a small silver car and a white van.

The car seems to be the most damaged and spun round now facing oncoming traffic. “Police and ambulance on the scene with traffic starting to be diverted around it. The damaged car is sitting across both lanes.”

We have contacted Police Scotland[6] and Scottish Ambulance service for comment.
