Driver crashes into TDOT truck, department urges motorists to stay off road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Department of Transportation is urging motorists to stay off the roads as treacherous driving conditions led to a crash involving one of their trucks.

One of our dump trucks was rear ended on SR 2 in Coffee County. Thankfully our driver is ok, but this is another example of why we're encouraging folks to stay home if at all possible - for your own safety AND the safety of our crews working around the clock to clear our roadways pic.twitter.com/8FyCUKTwVx[1]

A TDOT dump truck was rear-ended on State Route 2 in Coffee County on Monday, according to the department. No injuries were reported for the TDOT driver, but the injury status of the other driver is unknown.

"This is another example of why we're encouraging folks to stay home if at all possible," TDOT said on X.[3]
