Driver extracted, critically injured after Cary crash on Ten-Ten road
A 73-year-old woman from Garner died Thursday evening after a car crash in Cary. The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m., when Janice Sanders-Portier, 73, was driving a white Toyota Avalon when she pulled out in front of a white Ford F-150 pickup on Ten Ten Rd and Plumtree Way.
The fire department had to extract Portier from her car due to the crash's impact. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died. The driver of the other vehicle, Jared Ian Gray, 38, was not injured.
No charges will be filed.
Emergency crews closed the road for several hours as part of the investigation.
