Driver ploughs into high street shop as fire service called out

Hampshire fire attended the crash site (Image: Debs Baker) A furniture shop in Lymington has been damaged after a car ploughed into the front of the building. New Forest[1] store Willow Lifestyle, on High Street, was damaged after a driver hit the shop at around 11.30am.

Crews from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service were in attendance at the scene to help deal with the incident. The fire service confirmed no injuries occurred and they left the scene after the damage was cleared from the area. A fire service spokesperson said: “A car crashed into the front of a shop on the high street in Lymington at around 11.30 this morning.

“On-call firefighters from Lymington were alerted to make the scene safe. “Fortunately, there were no injuries and the building only suffered superficial damage. “HIWFRS returned to station following the stop message at 12:21.”

The shop was approached for comment.
