Emmerdale fans work out car crash blame twist after Heath dies in heartbreaking scenes
Emmerdale[1] fans think they have worked out a potential twist following Heath Hope's tragic death in a car crash. There were emotional scenes in the ITV[2] soap on New Year's Day on Monday (January 1) as Bob Hope and his partner Wendy Posner frantically tried to track down twins Heath and Cathy as well as Angelica King. The trio of teens defied their families' orders not to go to a New Year's Eve party and decided to steal Wendy's car as a means of getting to the bash themselves.
Cathy was in the driver's seat as they made their way towards Hotten. Viewers saw them in the car with Heath encouraging his sister to put her foot down as it was taking them too long to get to the party and Cathy had decided to take them through the back roads, which were like country lanes and pitch black. They had a near miss, seemingly with Aaron Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd as they were out stealing cars.
But soon, in tragic scenes, Emmerdale viewers saw Bob and Wendy find her car crashed off the side of the road. Nicola and Jimmy King and Brenda Walker desperately waited for updates back at home after it was revealed to them what Heath, Cathy and Angelica had done. While Cathy and Angelica managed to escape the wreckage, Heath was still unconscious inside the vehicle.
Wendy instructed her partner to help get him out but Bob seemed hesitant. But she insisted she needed to start CPR and her efforts appeared fruitless as Bob watched on in panic before an ambulance arrived.
Wendy tried to save HeathThen, at the hospital, Bob broke the news to Brenda that Heath had died, leaving them both sobbing in each other's arms. The police then arrived to speak to Cathy and Angelica and when Brenda asked how much trouble the girls will be in, the officer suggested they were still gathering information right now with investigators at the scene.
Emmerdale viewers rushed to social media to praise the acting from the likes of Tony Audenshaw and Lesley Dunlop, who play Bob and Brenda, while also sharing how the emotional scenes left them in tears.
Angelica and Cathy were left watching onSome, however, have pondered if a shock twist could be on the cards after Heath commented on either him or Angelica driving instead while Aaron and Mack were also seen on the road that night. @viennaxharrison said; "We didn't actually see the crash happen. Even though Cathy was driving, maybe her and Angelica swapped so it was Angelica who was driving? She did fancy Heath so maybe she was trying to impress him.
Alos, Mack and Aaron could've been involved too? They were also driving in the dark." @tamlizann25 asked: "Was Angelica driving not Cathy? #Emmerdale @emmerdale will Nico lie to protect her?" @TallAndFirey commented: "Probably find that they swapped and Cathy wasn't driving and Angel was #emmerdale." @AlexClaridge added: "Have a feeling that Angelica and Cathy swapped before the crash and it was actually Angel who was driving.
Must be a reason why we didn't see the actual crash and the girls already out of the car #Emmerdale."
