Essex M25 fatal crash near Brentwood: Inquest opens into woman’s death

Farzana Chowdhury, 21, is listed by the Essex Coroner’s Service as having died on the M25 motorway in Essex on December 23. Essex County Council confirmed her inquest opened on January 9, with the next date for the hearing to be set in due course. Farzana was reported by Essex Live to have died in a crash at 8.40pm near Brentwood.

A car collided with the central reservation of the motorway between junction 27 (Epping) and junction 28 (Brentwood)[1]. The driver of the car died at the scene and a police spokesperson described the victim as a “young woman from London”, adding that her next of kin were informed. A clockwise section of the M25 was closed for more than seven hours overnight following the crash.

Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance had attended the scene.

The road re-opened at around 4.30am on Christmas Eve.

A probe was launched by police and officers had urged anyone with information or CCTV footage to come forward.
