Family violence suspected after senior woman killed in Chilliwack, B.C., police say

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called to Chilliwack, B.C., on Wednesday after a 66-year-old woman was found dead inside a home on Teton Avenue. (Ben Nelms/CBC – image credit) A 66-year-old woman is dead and a 68-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Chilliwack, B.C., according to homicide investigators. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says a 37-year-old man was also injured in an incident involving three members of the same family on Wednesday afternoon.

Chilliwack RCMP were called to a home in the 46600-block of Teton Avenue at around 1p.m., according to an IHIT press release. The female victim was found dead, while the suspect was arrested at the scene without incident. Police say the wounded man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the public.

They have not released the name of the victims or the suspect.
