Four arrested in Gloucester for threatening behaviour over buying a car

Three teenagers and a 21-year-old man have been arrested for allegedly threatening[1] a man over a purchase of a car. Three of the men were located in a car by police[2], who searched the vehicle and found an air rifle. The incident happened at about 5.15pm yesterday (January 17) and arrests made in Abbeydale[3].

Police located the car[4] on Painswick Road with the three men, and another man was later arrested. A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: “Officers arrested four people in Gloucester yesterday (Tuesday 16 January) following reports that a man was threatened with violence. “Police were called at around 5.15pm with a report that a man had made threats to kill another man during a disagreement over the purchase of a car.

Officers located and stopped a vehicle on Painswick Road before searching it and finding an air rifle inside. “Three males from the car, aged 17, 18 and 21, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and firearm offences. A fourth male, also aged 18, was located at an address and arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

“They remain in police custody at this time.”
