Glasgow weather to see ‘freezing fog’ and temperatures dipping to

Glasgow[1] is being hit with a cold snap as the city experiences ‘freezing fog’ throughout the day. Weather[2] forecasters are also predicting a drop in temperatures as low as -5 degrees tonight. Meanwhile, temperatures will be no higher than 5 degrees today.

Despite the freezing temperatures, Glasgow is expected to see some frosty sunshine as the day wears on, with no rain predicted for the entirety of the week.

The Met Office forecast reads: “Early freezing fog patches for some, only gradually clearing. Dry.

Rather cloudy start, but bright and sunny spells building, with Ayrshire and Argyll seeing best of the weak winter sunshine. Winds light easterly. Maximum temperature 5 ?C.”

It continues: “Dry with clear spells prolonged across much of the area, combining with light generally easterly winds to allow a widespread frost, this quite deep for rural areas. Minimum temperature -5 ?C.” Tomorrow (January 9) will see similarly cold weather, with predicted temperatures of around 2 degrees.

The forecast for Tuesday reads: “Most if not all dry with only a few isolated showers possible across the cloudier east. Winter sunshine prolonged for many. Winds light easterly.

Maximum temperature 5 ?C.”
