Gridlock around Milford, Everton and Pennington as A337 closed after serious crash
A SERIOUS crash in which a car rolled caused rush-hour gridlock around Milford, Everton and Pennington this morning (Tuesday). The A337 was closed between Newbridge Drive and Milford Road while emergency services were at the scene, and traffic was diverted down Wainsford Road, which was also reportedly gridlocked as a result. It reopened just after 9am.
Local firefighters responded to a call-out shortly before 6am, reporting the vehicle had careered off the road and ended up on its side.
They released one occupant and passed them into the care of South Central Ambulance Service paramedics in an operation that took just over an hour. Buses to Arnewood and Priestlands schools were delayed, and parents were informed. Hampshire police has been contacted for information.
Expect roads to be icy this morning, even roads which have been treated - We are already receiving several calls for collisions with vehicles leaving the road due to ice.
Please slow down and take extra care.
The A337 between Lymington & New Milton is closed due to an RTC.
