Heanor live updates as roads closed after pedestrian hit by bus

Several roads in a town centre have been closed tonight after a pedestrian was hit by a bus. The collision in Market Street, Heanor, Derbyshire[1] on Wednesday evening (January 10) has led to the closure of its high street, and parts of the A608 and Wilmot Street. In a post on X, Derbyshire Police said: “Several roads in Heanor[2] are closed following a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.

High Street is closed from Tesco roundabout up to the Market Place, as is the A608 from its junction with Ilkeston Road. “Wilmot Street near to the Market Place is also closed.” Traffic monitoring site Inrix said the closure[3] in Market Street has been in place since 7.15pm.

We’re raising money for victims of the flood with the support of Nottinghamshire County Council. Any donation, big or small, is appreciated to help communities rebuild and get back on their feet.

It reads: “A608 Market Street in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident between Ray Street and A6007 Ilkeston Road. The road was closed at around 19:15.” This is a breaking news story.
