Hemel Hempstead: Crash and arrests follow police pursuit
The incident took place at around 12.30pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, January 3), when police came across a vehicle in Kings Road that they suspected of being stolen in a burglary in Aston Clinton that morning. The vehicle failed to stop on Kings Road, and a pursuit was authorised. It later crashed with “multiple other vehicles” in Cuttsfield Terrace, leading to minor injuries.
The driver left the vehicle on foot, and a police helicopter was deployed. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead, was found and arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving in accordance with a licence and testing positive for cannabis. A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
