High-speed chase ends in Hooksett crash in Bedford, woman arrested

BEDFORD — A routine traffic stop escalated into a high-speed chase on Jan.

15, ending with a vehicle crash and the arrest of a Manchester woman for multiple offenses. New Hampshire State Police Trooper Shane Mason initiated the stop of a Silver Hyundai Santa Fe for various violations at approximately 8:43 a.m. on the F.E. Everett Turnpike South at Exit 13.

When Trooper Mason approached the vehicle, the driver, identified as Kaitlyn M. Muise, 31, fled the scene. The chase continued onto Raymond Wieczorek Drive, with Muise making a U-turn to head back to the F.E.

Everett Turnpike North, and then onto Interstate 293 North. She subsequently took the exit onto Interstate 93 South. Troopers later found that Muise had crashed the Hyundai on the Interstate 93 9S off-ramp.

Despite the vehicle overturning, Muise was able to exit the car on her own. She was evaluated by emergency medical services and, after being medically cleared, was taken into custody. Muise is charged with Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon, Disobeying a Police Officer, Operating a Vehicle without an Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device, Operating After Suspension for DUI, Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, Misuses of Plate, and a Defective Equipment violation.

After being released on bail, Muise is scheduled for arraignment at Merrimack District Court on March 26.

The New Hampshire State Police were assisted by the Hooksett Fire and Police departments at the scene of the crash.
