Highway 401 crash in Chatham-Kent involved stolen vehicle: OPP

An Essex County woman is facing charges after a crash on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent involving a single vehicle which had been reported stolen. The crash occurred in the centre median near Victoria Road Thursday just before 6 a.m., Elgin County OPP said. Article content

The vehicle had been stolen, Windsor Police told OPP investigators. A suspect was located and arrested without incident. A 31-year-old Harrow woman is charged with possession of property obtained by crime worth less than £5,000, driving without a licence and careless driving, OPP said.

The accused has a March 4 court date in Chatham and was turned over to Windsor police on an outstanding arrest warrant, the OPP said.
