Injured walker rescued from icy hillside

Two mountain rescue teams were called out to assist an injured walker who fell on an icy south of Scotland hillside.

The incident happened at about 16:30 on Wednesday on Criffel near New Abbey.

Police called out Moffat Mountain Rescue Team (MMRT) and assistance was given by Galloway Mountain Rescue Team (GMRT).

The casualty was stretchered off the hill and taken to hospital by a waiting ambulance.
