Isle of Wight crash in Calbourne sees car overturn and one person hurt
Officers closed the road between its junctions of Newbridge Road and Chessell Pottery. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) said firefighters from Newport and Freshwater fire stations assisted with the rescue of one casualty. They were passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
A spokesperson for HIWFRS said: “We worked closely with partners from SCAS and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police. “Firefighters returned to station following the stop message at around 10am.” The road remains closed, but is expected to reopen shortly.
UPDATE: The road has now re-opened.
