Leicestershire man dies in A590 Cumbria crash
A driver from Leicestershire has died in a crash on the A590. The man, in his 20s, was driving a Jaguar which was involved in the collision with a delivery van on Tuesday, January 2. Cumbria Police closed the A590, close to Gilpin Bridge, where the incident happened at around 9am.
The road remained shut in both directions[1] for most of the day, until 6pm, with drivers asked to avoid the area. A spokesperson for the police said the car driver – who has not been identified – died at the scene of the crash on Tuesday. The driver of the van was uninjured in the incident.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing[3] and no arrests have been made in connection, police said. The force is appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
