Lewisham High Street bus crash: Pedestrian taken to hospital

The incident happened in Lewisham High Street just before 11.15am today (January 16). Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a female pedestrian injured. She was taken to hospital for treatment where her injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.

There are traffic delays through Lewisham High Street following the incident, according to AA. Bus route 16 has also been diverted. A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 11:16hrs on Tuesday, 16 January to reports of a bus in collision with a pedestrian on High Street in Lewisham.

“Officers attended. The pedestrian was taken to hospital; her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.” The full AA maps statement: “Road blocked and delays due to crash on Lewisham High Street both ways between A21 Molesworth Street and Albion Way.

Within the shopping[1] centre, around 11:00.

“Detour in operation – affects 16 bus routes.”
