Live: A50 closed in Stoke-on-Trent after ‘multiple vehicles involved in crash’

Motorists are being warned of long delays on the A50 following a crash in Stoke-on-Trent this afternoon (January 11). There are currently queues of around 40 minutes on the eastbound side of the dual carriageway following a collision in Meir. Congestion is backing up around four miles to Heron Cross.

It is not yet known how many vehicles are involved or whether there are any serious injuries. One driver who is currently stuck in traffic told StokeonTrentLive: “We’re at a standstill going from Longton to Blythe Bridge. We’ve been stuck for over 20 minutes and there’s no movement.”

Traffic monitoring site Inrix reports: “Long delays and partially blocked due to accident on A50 eastbound before A521 Uttoxeter Road (Tesco Roundabout/Caverswal/Meir Park). Congestion to Heron Cross. Travel time is 40 minutes.”
