LIVE: Car catapults into Newcastle sunken roundabout as police shut roads

Motorists are reporting a large police presence in a town centre tonight. Witnesses are reporting ‘loads of police’ in the Grosvenor island area of Newcastle-under-Lyme[1]. There has also been a report of police closing roads in the area and traffic being diverted.

The incidents were reported from around 8pm tonight. Police remained at the scene at 10.30pm tonight. Another witness says a car has gone into the sunken roundabout.

They said: “There has been an accident on the sunken roundabout in Newcastle. A car has gone into the roundabout.” StokeonTrentLive has approached Staffordshire Police[2] for a statement regarding the nature of tonight’s activity.

Anyone with any information can call the police on 101.
